Got quoted for a Mini gearbox rebuild, is this price in the normal range?

My 2012 Cooper's gearbox finally gave up last week, it started grinding and then refused to go into gear at all. Took it to a shop and they told me it needs a full rebuild, quoted me a figure that I have no way of knowing is fair or not. This is my first time dealing with gearbox work so I am completely in the dark. A colleague mentioned that this Mini Cooper gearbox rebuild shop offers fair pricing, but I have not reached out yet because I want to get a sense of what is normal first. Has anyone here had a rebuild done on a Mini and can share roughly what you paid? Also what should I be asking them about warranty and parts before I agree to anything. I do not want to cheap out and regret it, but I also do not want to overpay just because I do not know better.
